hey everyone i came here because i REALLY need help, i have a 99 f150 5.4 L 4X4 with a chip key, and i have a strange issue, on Christmas eve i shut my truck off and ran into the store, was in there for about 10 minutes, came out and it wouldnt start, you could hear the starter and all but it just wouldnt turn over, so i had it towed thinking the fuel pump was bad, anyway i got it home and did research , turns out i failed to notice when i had the key turned the theft light flashed so anyway i went out on christmas day (didnt try to start it anymore after it got towed home on christmas eve) and it fired right up, so anyway the next day started up fine, i went to the store, came out, and it did the same thing. so i did the thing with the key and i helt it in the on position until thetheft light stopped flashing and turned it in the off position and let it sit for about 30 seconds and it was fine. for the last month and a half its gotten worse, now if i dont let it sit for atleast 2 or 3 hours i have to keep doing the reprogram process (that i mentioned above) and sometimes it takes 1 time sometimes it takes 10, sometimes it starts right back up, only consistent thing i notice is after sitting all night it starts EVERY morning. i also had a new key made at walmart but it did the same thing with that key also, i was told it could be the "halo" transmitter thats around the lock cylinder , but then i was told by the person selling it that those either work or they dont, so what is my issue? any ideas??? im soooo clueless and fed up with this, thank you!!
