Hey guys I have an 04 F-150 XLT 5.4L Crew cab I am looking in to programmers which do you think is the best? right now I am looking at the VIVID LINQ - Ford Gas 118650 from superchips for $349

Avoid canned devices, or ANY non-SCT device. Custom-tuned SCT devices offer the most bang/buck, the largest custom-tuning dealer network and the best support. Not to mention the best hardware and the best tuning.
You'll note that the X4 I linked to is not much more than the unit you were considering - and is FAR more capable.
