I first ran the 87oct perf/tow tune, THEN I tried the 91 Race tune, Im not sure I could go back to the 87 tune...and 91/93oct gas is quite expensive up here in Canada...

I still have my 93 performance tune that I've never tried... i want to but 1 I can only get 91 octane here (colorado 6000ft) which SHOULD be ok but it worries me. And 2 91 is expensive also.

I've been running 5 Star for about 2 years in my 2011 5.0. No problems. Right now I'm running the 89 octane tune. Seem to get about 1 more MPG with it than with the 87. Would highly recommend.

Quick question for all you guys? Do or did any of you get any valve noise that sounds like chatter/rattle at low rpms, maybe pulling slight hills or upgrades? I did a few times on stock tune and had my custom tunes revised because of this, truck is a 2012 5.0,thanks

Ordered my 5star tuner on Monday, should be here Friday. Ordered the 87, 91, & 93 performance/tow tunes. Trying to run my tank out this week so I can fill up with 93 on E. Really looking forward to having an accurate speedo after a year and half of guessing how fast I've been going.

Just recently loaded my 93 performance/tow from them. Got it crazy fast and had to wait to install it because I was still in my transition tank of gas from 87 to 93. But man, what a difference! Definitely provided some pep to the truck. And it seems much more "relaxed" holding highway speeds. Loving it so far. Although, when do I start seeing fuel gains? Could have something to do with how much I'm enjoying the added pep!

Custom Tunes

I had an 04 FX4 Supercrew with 5.4L that I added long tube stainless headers w no cats and true 2-1/2 dual exhaust out the back and with a CAI and BBK 80MM throttle body. Tuned it with an SCT 3 tuner and had custom tunes done by a local guy in 87, 91 and 93 tunes and rebuilt the diffs with 4:10 gears and a detroit true trac in the rear. All tunes picked up mpg and power and it was a bear when I ran 94 octane fuel with the 93 tune. Here in Canada 94 is available at any local husky gas station. I didn't run it all the time but it was fun every once in a while. I also had quick lift rancho rsx 9000 levelling shocks in the front and rsx 9000 shocks in the rear. With 34' nitto tera grapplers It was really well balanced and much more responsive and had way more power than stock.
