The way to see if you already have a chip in your truck is to lay on the passanger side floor and look up. The computer is attached to the truck with a bracket. There is a black plastic clip holding it in. It goes through the fire wall. If there were a Superchip in there you would be able to see it. I believe the ones for our F150's are blue. If it is a different brand I couldn't tell you what to look for. I would think it unlikely that a chip would be left in there. Could happen I guess.
I think, and I think many will agree, that right here on F150 Online is the best place to buy a Superchip. Mike Troyer and Performance Products will be able to answer your questions and hook you up with a Superchip.
Take a look at some of the other threads here. You might find some valueable information. You will at least learn what others think about the Superchip.
Good luck!

Hi 98ride,

Welcome to F-150 Online!

Wittom gave you an excellent response, just look on the back of the computer, and if it has a Superchip, you'll be able to see the blue module right there on the back of the computer. As Tom mentioned, just look above the passenger's kick panel, the computer is right there, and you don't have to remove anything or even get on your back or lay on the floor to see it. Just kneel down and look just above the passenger's kick panel, and it's right there. It's a small rectangular-shaped "box", that looks like it's made of galvanized aluminum. If the Superchip is present, it'll be right there on the back of the computer.

Congratulations on getting your F-150, & we hope you'll hang out here with us on F-150 Online in your spare time!
