3.7 Power Options

Thinking of squeezing some more power out of the 3.7. These bigger tires and 20' boat are dragging it down a bit. I know the power is in there, I just need to dig it out. What are your first thoughts? Tuner or some 4:11s?

If I hadn't dumped so much money into this truck already I'd just trade it for a 5.0, but I like the dang thing too much. Perhaps I will do some forum searching tonight, although info for the 3.7 seems to be scarce.

Or perhaps a turbo for a homemade 3.7l ecoboost

Not sure if there is a programmer and even if there was I couldnt imagine it would offer what your after. Best bet in my opinion change yor gearing for your towing if in fact you are keeping it.

Personally cut your loses and start over. Best of luck.

Yes, there are programmers for the 3.7 - I believe Wittom has one.

Ah, I should have known to check with Wittom. I may look into regearing it, but either one of these options would surely void my powertrain warranty, and I think the tune is a bit easier to hide if necessary.

Well I did a rather lengthy forum search and found 5 or 6 different threads from the past few years that address this question directly. For some reason the search wasn't bringing up any results on my phone earlier today. Sorry for dragging the topic back up. Yet again, the search function prevails

I may just PM Wittom, he seems to be the wise one when it comes to the 3.7L.

Probably get hosed if you trade in your truck. Tuner and gears most likely cheaper alternative. And don't let the dyno graph's final numbers fool you.

If you have lots of $$$$ then trade it in or better yet wait a few months and get a 2015

Nice truck by the way. Simple and tasteful.
