SCT SF3 question

I purchased a used SCT SF3 today at a very good price, I did the updates and hooked it up to the truck. For now I only have the 3 canned tunes. When I plug into the ODB2, the device gives me some options, how do I find the canned tunes? Or do I just select the octane level and let the device do the rest? (i.e.shift firmness, WOT, speed limiter etc).

I thought the options would have been;
Performance
Towing
Economy...

I selected 93 octane choice on the device after I filled up, but I am not noticing much, if any improvement...

Will be sending out for custom tunes real soon!

It should be under the "Program Vehicle" menu. The canned tune are called "Stradegy Tunes" by SCT. You should have the ability to adjust a few of the options, such as shift firmness, etc.

However, these canned tunes are still very generalized, since they are unsure of the quality fuel put in the vehicle, and other things.

CUstom tunes are definitely your best bet. Good luck!

Yes I can find the "Strategy Tune" selection, but there are no choices...just a whole **** load of options. I figured there would be 3 choices for the canned tunes;

Performance
Towing
Economy...

If you bought it used, it's possible the canned tunes were wiped out.

Had to remove the second thread as only one per subject is allowed.

The canned tunes cannot be deleted from the device. At least not by an end user.

OP, I don't believe there are any specific "towing", "performance", or "economy" choices, only the ability to change certain options. I think they just give the ability for certain octane fuels.

You could call SCT directly. They are very good at helping customers out with things like this.

My advice, however, is just set the handheld aside and wait to use it for when you get your custom tunes.

Thanks for that advice, this is what I figure too, although on SCT's website AND in the instructions it says the words "tune Type", towing tune and economy tune. I am just confused by the generic user manual I guess...

I can't wait to get a custom tune, then I won't be confused anymore, Should I go 5Star or MPT?
