max rpm

can anyone tell me what max safe rpm for 5.0 f150 is?

Not sure of the differences between the truck other than the published cam and compression differences. It's my understanding that many of the internals are exactly the same. Many truck 5.0 tuners are setting the redline at 6500. The Mustang boys are going much higher, as they need to remain in 4th gear at the end of the 1/4 mile. Typically around here the Mustangs run to 7800 RPM (I live 3 miles from PBIR, used to be called Moroso, racetrack) . But remember, that's not for every shift, only for 4th gear at the end of the 1/4.

The Mustang redline is set at 7000 and it's generally considered very safe to go to 7300 regularly.
