Dealer won't flash

Dealer won't flash
I have just swapped a 4.6 for a 5.4. I used all the 4.6 components. One dealer won't flash the computer, because of liability issues and one says they can't. This is in a 1998 f150 4x4. Can i do this myself? If so what hardware do I need? and how do I. I am tired of the run around. Thankx in advance.

Galaxie08, you will be hard pressed to find a dealer wiling to flash your PCM, also I don't think the Ford IDS is able to change strategy families, which is what you're looking for. The IDS is only able to update an existing strategy, again as far as I know.
BUT we can definitely help you out, or any SCT custom tuning dealer for that matter. All you'll need is an SCT device, (part number 3015 will work) and a custom tune. We sell the 3015's for $379, which includes 3 custom tunes and free shipping.
