SuperChips 2013 FX4 5.0 Tune??

Hi Folks,

Wondering if anybody has successfully installed a SuperChips tune on their 2013 FX4 5.0. I've tried 2x with the programmer and unsuccessful both times.

1st try got a message that calibration file wasn't available. Call superchips tech support who adjusted something on their end and told me to download new file.

2nd try got a message stating database error update programmer. Tried updating programmer but no new files downloaded.

Will be calling tech support in the morning again but as I asked earlier was wondering if anyone has been successful with their 2013 5.0 tunes.

Thanks!!!

Are you trying to use canned tunes? You really should get a set of custom tunes.

You might want to read the warranty supplement booklet. The passage in says:

From Ford's 2013 F-150 Warranty fine print:

Damage Caused by Alteration or Modification
The New Vehicle Limited Warranty does not cover any damage caused by:
• alterations or modifications of the vehicle, including the body, chassis, or
components, after the vehicle leaves the control of Ford Motor Company
• tampering with the vehicle, tampering with the emissions systems or
with the other parts that affect these systems (for example, but not
limited to exhaust and intake systems)
• the installation or use of a non-Ford Motor Company part (other than
a certified emissions part) or any part (Ford or non-Ford) designed
for off-road use only installed after the vehicle leaves the control of
Ford Motor Company, if the installed part fails or causes a Ford part
to fail. Examples include, but are not limited to lift kits, oversized
tires, roll bars, cellular phones, alarm systems, automatic starting
systems and performance-enhancing powertrain components or
software and performance ‘‘chips’’

This gives Ford an 'out' if there is any question of warranty issues. I would love to tune my truck, but not at the risk of not having any factory backing on a $50,000 vehicle. I will wait until the warranty runs out. Your truck, do what you want to with it. Just info that it is now in print.
