So... what's the big news at Superchips?
So... what's the big news at Superchips?
I started reading this thread pretty regularly about a month ago. Since I am considering a chip for my Crew I thought I would snoop around here to see what I could find.
I remember reading about a "new and exciting" product (yea, that is my paraphrasing) from Superchips that would be unvieled soon. That must have been a few weeks ago.
So... did I miss it our is it still under wraps?

Hi kkirt1,
I think perhaps you may have misunderstood (and it's easy to see why, as we talked about a couple of things just before the Rally), so I'll try to clear that up for you.
The Micro Tuner for Fords from Superchips (the original Micro Tuner has been available for years for the 1996 & newer GM vehicles that require this type of device), which is being designed for the *future* generation of Ford computers, was one of those things we discussed, but just briefly, as it's not applicable to the current generation of FoMoCo vehicles. In the future, Ford will be doing away with the J3 male edge connector on the back of the current EEC-IV (1995 & older) & EEC-V (1996 & up) computers, which is where performance chips traditionall attach; this means that those future computers will require a different type of device to upload the performance program. That has been under R&D for some time now, it's development isn't anything brand new that we haven't discussed from time to time here before, they've been working on it for well over a year. We haven't talked about it a lot simply because it's not applicable to the current generation of vehicles, it's a future product for the next generation of Ford ECU's. However, we were talking about it a bit at that time, I think, if memory serves, so that could easily have been part of what you saw.
The real "announcement" was that we picked up a few new product lines, some of which we still haven't announced as we are still getting all the details taken care of, in response to the many people that have been asking us for years to carry a wider selection. One of which is the Diablo line of performance chips, to give everyone a choice between the only 2 "name" chipmakers that tune at all throttle positions, along with some other products that we'll be announcing here in the next few weeks, as we get them integrated around here, and that is what is new for us here at Performance Products.
I hope that clears up any confusion, & sorry if we caused any confusion for you, kkirt1.

Mike,
Are you a national distributor for Diablo Motorsports or just a retail outlet. Just wondered because you still sign on as Superchips National Distributor and no mention of Diablo Motorsports representation.
