HELP speed density tuning options

I have a 95 f150 flareside with a 5.8 it is not mass air. the motor was already roller when i got into it. i put a cam lift.530/.513, gt40 heads and intake, deleted egr and smog, 4:10 rear end, long tubes and underdrive pulleys 150 nos shot and lightning e40d tranny. i need help with whats the best tuning options? i advanced the timing alot to get it to run but that through the nitrous off. truck ran fine when i was not at idle and was actually something fast but it would surge and die at a idle if i wasnt in the gas. if any one has any tips or advice it would be greatly appreciated

Interesting, not enough vacuum? Does it need to idle a tad higher?

Idk about the vaccum and the only way the up the idle that I know is advance the timing but its already advanced like 15 degrees I don't want to over do it

I don't know what the correct vacuum #'s would be for your set up but I'd put a gauge on to find out. Maybe a small leak from a cracked hose. May be a good place to start since it's cheap and easy to diagnose. If the overlap in that cam is large (and admittedly I don't know if it is or not) then I believe you will need strong vacuum to keep it running at idle.

Is it getting enough fuel? or too much?

I am assuming it's electronic fuel injection and not carb'd.

I'm hoping one of the "old schoolers" will chime in. Very interesting subject.

Well the motor isn't in the truck at the moment I blew a head gasket but I'll look into the vacuum and its 24 lbs injectors in it I want to put 30s but I'm afraid with the speed density it won't act right could a maf conversion help? I know it's gonna have rough idle cause the can is big has a good chop I'm just wondering if the SD is the problem

Is the tuning up to date? To clarify, is the SD tuning on par with the latest modifications?

I'm just trying to deduce the potential issue here - not enough fuel? Maybe the 30lb injectors will be the cure? Fuel pump not up to task?

Need an old schooler who's built motors to chime in :-)

the only thing to do with tuning other then distributor is a lil hypertech chip and i havent been ablew to try the 30lbs without something else going wrong its a long story haha ive been building the truck for a while and it was a daily driver in the process. the fuel pump pushed the 24lbs fine the problem only came when i put the cam in but it makes since that it might not have enough fuel at idle but its getting enough at higher rmp the idle on the truck is from 400 to 800 with the cam and it surging

and yeah itd be nice to run into someone whos been in the same spot
