Tire size not staying set

I dont know if anyone has had this problem OR Im crazy

I have aftermarket tires 285/60/18.. I did my tune and put the tire setting at 2510 like it is on the chart in the manual. I then set the gear ratio to 3:73....which is what Im running. I went right back into the tire settings and it was different that what I had set it at. So I put it back on 2510 and went on with the rest of my tune. Before I was done in the settings I went back to the tires and once again it was different. I set it again and let it retune.

It feels as if my truck is going WAY slower at hwy speeds. Like 10-15 mph difference. Am I missing something here?

Any and all help is GREATLY appreciated

tire setting at 2510....hmm are you talking about the revolutions per mile? If so, that is WAY off....more like 660-664.

SCT uses revs but Edge products uses tire size in mm.

Been a long time but I seem to recall that if you don't tell it to save your settings, it reverts to default when you go back to an item. Just set it and go on, don't go back to look.

I have a Edge Evo. The chart that comes with it show the tires in mm... 2510 is 285/60/18

Wow just read those instructions on pg. 21 for their circumference calculation. Wonder why Edge uses that over RPM? Hopefully someone running Edge has a tip...

It's just the way their program is written. Why does it matter? Both work equally well.

Apparently not considering he can't get it to stay And it was quite a simple question as to "why" they choose circumference....

He can't get it to stay because he is not using the hardware correctly. If you go back to a setting it reverts to default as it thinks you did not like what you changed it to. As I stated above, you have to save the settings. It's all in the manual. Whether the program uses revs or mm has nothing to do with his question.

you save the settings when you hit the done button. you then turn your key to the on position and it tunes it. I have had this tuner for two years and have never had to "save" any setting. I go from extreme to towing and its cutomized each time.

Bluejay I see what your saying. But something is wrong. Hwy speed is way off. I guess I will get another truck next to me and go 70mph and see how much it is off.

Yes, that saves it unless you go back to look at one of the settings. There is another option to choose, I can't remember what it's called, that locks the settings in if you want to go back. Are you positive that you do have 3.73 gears? You can also check your speed by going 60 mph for one 60 seconds and see if you went 1 mile.

The best way to set it is with a GPS
