Upgrading to inTune

Hey guys
Diablo is offering a promo where by predator users can trade in their existing predator units and get the inTune for $289 + shipping. I purchased a 2012 F150 FX2 with 5.0L in it a few months ago and I still have the predator I bought for my 2007 Lariat. The regular price for the inTune is $499, on sale for $399 now. I really enjoyed the tuner in my Lariat and I am definitely looking forward to the inTune product. The package looks pretty nice. I posted a link below. Once I get the new unit I will post a solid review.
THE WAIT BEGINS!!!!!!

It hath arrived!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I received the tuner and updated it immediately. This took about 20 minutes. Then I loaded the 93 tune with the speed limiter removed in the truck (not to worry I will not exceed the recommended speed of the tires). I was down to about 3 gallons of 93 in the truck when I loaded the tune. The first thing I notice is the change in the sound of the engine. There is an immediate growl at 1500 RPM. The throttle lag is gone so the accelerator requires a more delicate application to achieve economy. The acceleration is tremendous. Far greater than the stock tune. The shifts are much quicker but not harsh which I appreciate. I like that the truck holds the gear properly IMO. Specifically it doesn't shift too soon or wait to long to shift. I'll find out what it is like in traffic today. In stop and go I can't stand the constant "bang" from first to second when I am coasting at 20 MPH. I maintain distance because I can not stand going from the gas to the break in stop and go traffic. I would rather just roll along and let the idiots weave in and out.
What is really incredible is the acceleration on the highway. The truck accelerates beautifully in 6th gear with minimal pedal travel (I will attribute this to the modification of the TPS). The 5.0 is already a screamer in passing gear but this 93 tune makes it a beast! I have never been so impressed with a canned tune before. The truck is stock. I have a drop in K&N filter. My commute to work is 40+ miles so this morning was a blast in the cold weather. At 70 MPH and no head wind MPGs are a solid 19.2 which is the same as stock. The truck will suck gas if you are heavy footed around town. So far it has been a blast.I am going to leave the tune alone for the holidays. I have no intentions of modifying shift points or timing. I'll leave that to the experts. I feel that the Diablo intune has made a remarkable difference in the drive ability and fun factor. I would recommend this product to any 5.0 driver out there today. I'll post more after I get a few more miles on her.
Thank you diablo for a bad azz product!

inTune interface

The inTune interface is very easy and intuitive to navigate. The settings are clearly defined and easy to navigate. I like that increasing the RPM limit is done in actual RPMs. Anyone using the unit should be patient. I updated the unit on my laptop which is an i5 processor with 6GB of RAM connected to a 12MB internet pipe and it still took 20 minutes. Loading the tune into the truck took another 20 minutes and please keep in mind this was the first load. Subsequent loads and changes may not take as long. Ill update again after a few more miles on it.

I love reading these reviews, it makes all the hard work worth it!

Glad to see you enjoying the tunes. I've said it before, and I'll say it again, I'll hold our canned tunes up to most of the 'custom tunes' offered out there on a stock truck any day

Let me know if you need anything, and Happy Holidays!

Thanks

reading the stock tune out is the most time consuming part of the initial tune.
Subsequent tune changes will only require a re-write, which should take about 2 minutes

Thanks

Does Diablo have options of tunes for intakes like on Mustangs and older F150s on the new 5.0 and Eco trucks? I really thought it was awesome that diablo was basically the only company offering canned tunes that worked with intakes.

inTune update

I am still running the 93 tune and on my fifth tank of gas. This is a tank of Shell where as the previous have been Valero. I set the rev limiter up to 6500 RPM but the setting doesn't seem to have taken as I am still watching it shift a 6000 rpm. I will post on the diablo forum and follow up with the replies and fixes any. That being said I still love the tune. The truck is super snappy, plenty of growl and enough speed to get me a ticket. If I could totally defeat the advance track I would and proceed to boil the factory tires off, but it still shuts down completely when I wind it out to keep the back end straight
I think I have the open diff so this may be the reason I can not keep the tires spinning through the gear change. It's certainly easier on my pocket book and drive train but its also my money and my toy lol. I still recommend the product to anyone looking for a tuner.

I replied to your post on our forum, but the issue is you have to raise shift points, as well as the rev limiter.

If you want to try a tune to get it to roast the tires a little longer, post a copy of the last tune written on our forum and I'll have our ford tuner take a whack at it.

Thanks

I have a 2013 5.0 and have had Diablosport Intune on it for about 9 months. I started out with the 91 tune and then loaded the 93 tune for a couple weeks and then went back to a 91 tune with some of the settings modified. The Diablo made a giant difference in the acceleration and driving pleasure. I recently added the Roush Cold Air induction to the truck ... wow. That really unleashed the beast. I just got back from a 1500 mile round trip at mostly freeway speeds and got 20.8 mpg.
