Selling my XCalibrator 2??

I purchased a Troyer custom tuned xcalibrator 2 ~6 years ago. Well I sold my truck a few years ago and this thing has just been sitting around. Would I be able to sell it to someone else with a 97-07 F150 and have it work?

I just sold mine recently. If you return your truck to the stock tune it will be "unlocked" and available to receive new custom tunes. The original tunes from Troyer were married to your old truck and will not work on another truck.

If you sold your truck without returning it to stock, your XCal2 is essentially a paperweight. The cost to unlock it (if it can even still be unlocked) probably exceeds the value of the device.

I'm in the same situation. Bought the Xcal2 from Troyer Performance for a 2006 F150, it's unmarried, and I'd like to sell it. I'd be very interested in the answer to this.

So... the answer to the OP's question is essentially "YES"... as long as he returned the truck to stock prior to selling/trading it. Also, the buyer should be aware that they're purchasing the device ONLY to have tunes uploaded to it as the tunes that were/are on the device were for ONLY his original vehicle.

Right?

SCT will unlock it for around $150, which is what a unmarried xcal2 is worth anyways.

Thanks for the responses everyone. I believe before I sold the truck that I did return it to stock tune, that was also 5 years ago so i'm not sure. How would I determine if I did indeed do this? Does SCT have a program I can run on my pc so i can plug the tuner in and find out?

It says:
5 changes left
Stat=Stock

So I assume it means I returned the truck back to stock? And what exactly does the 5 changes left mean?

ok, think i got this figured out. unlocked my device, now says 'stat=unused'. so now i believe future owner just needs to purchase their own tunes and install onto device
