Smile superchip re-installed in L

Hey Mike Paul here. I received the re-programmed chip last nite for my 01L that you had. Of course I installed in right away and took it for a test drive. Yes I recleaned everything very carefully this time Well let we just say "holy chit" I tried to punch it from a dead stop with no brake. This thing smoked the tires all through first gear!! I looked in my rear view mirror and saw a patch about 10 ft. long!! Now that's what I'm talking about. Before the chip it would give a little spin for maybe 2 ft.Thanks again for your help. I am taking it to the strip tonight and will post my new times. I am going to try it stock, with street side, then put the racing fuel in and try my strip side.

Hi Paul,

I'm so glad to hear it, your Lightning is just like mine, it had a ton of that conformal coating, and so even with as many of these as I have done, we cleaned my connector 3 times before we ever put the ECU back into the truck, as each time we went back and checked it, there was more conformal coating coming off.

As soon as I say the slot on your Superchip, I knew exactly what the problem was.

Once that connector is cleaned, the Superchip wakes that truck right up. The stock Lightnings usually burn rubber very little on the street on a hard launch, they spin for just a couple feet and hook right up. With the Superchip, that changes, and you actually have to adjust your starting line technique, or you'll go up in smoke. That's what you get with a nice 40+ horsewpower gain, to say nothing of the big gain in torque.

Have fun at the track Paul & good luck!
