I was just curious as i have been doing some reading on this site. I have a Air Raid synthamax CAI with the K&N filter and i also have a full dual flowmaster exhaust. I just purchased this truck and am unsure if the previous owner had a tuner but i dont want to lean out the truck because of the mods.

should i worry. im not aginst buying a tuner but will it hurt my truck in the mean time

Some say a lean condition can happen. I think it depends on what motor you are running. Regardless, a tuner with a custom tune would be a good investment.

 

Give us some details/specs on yer truck!

sorry guys its a 06 f150 Fx4 with 96k miles and the 5.4

 

Yep....with the CAI, a tuner will be needed with custom tunes....

Also.....find a different air filter....oil type air filters tend to foul maf's....

 

At 96k, it's time for new spark plugs if they have never been changed. Read up on those issues here, it has 2 piece plugs that like to break and stick in the heads on removal.

I'd be willing to bet that some people trade in their trucks instead of attempting a plug change with the 2004-mid 2008 5.4 3 valve engines.

 

Change the plugs, get an oil-less filter, and get'er tuned before it blows up and spews it's guts all over da highway
