I've purchased a SCT3 tuner from VMP for my old F-150 and now I wanted to tune my '97 Expedition. When I hook up the code reader, it reads ALAPIF4* under vehicle info. I did not see a code sticker under the passenger side dash that had a strategy code on it. Is it possible that a previous user cleared it out since I am at least the THIRD owner of the vehicle?

 

You will have to call Justin at VMP, the strategy code in your f150 is different than the strategy code in your '97 Expedition. Justin will have to change the code in the tune on the tuner. When it is changed to your '97 Expedition it will no longer work on your f150 though, if you are trying to tune two trucks you will need two tuners.

Look at vehicle info while hooked up to your f150 an you will see it has a different code.
