About to buy a edge evo programmer

Im about to buy an edge evo programmer http://www.edgeproducts.com/product.php?pk=90&pvk=277
Are they still worth the money? my sig has all of my mods.

Im a little confused by the canned tunes; transmission, towing, and performance. Do all three help fuel economy? and can performance be used with 87 octane fuel?

I like the programmer mainly because of the pod, simplicity, display, and price. Is there a better programmer for the same price?

Also, I read that now it can run custom tunes, so you dont have to convert it to a gryphon. is that true?

Thanks guys.

Yeah, true. The PHP order page has an option "Custom tunes for an Edge Evolution".

Dam, I just checked your link. You can just order a Gryphon straight from PHP, and it will be 50 bux less, and, the tunes will cost half price. It's the same hardware platform, just a black case instead of a grey case.

And yeah, you should run at least 91 octane on level three. I have Chevron around here, so I use 93 octane.

Im on the php site right now. Im choosing the Stock 87 tow tune, custom 87 performance, and stock tranny tune.

So does that mean that it will ship with the 2 stock ones and the custom will come later?

Besides my new tire size, what other mods do I need to include in the question sheet?

Does he know how to adjust for the Gotts Mod?

Gotts Mod doesn't need any adjustment, the MAF is still in the stock location.

might as well save yourself the hassle and just get the device straight from PHP along with a custom tune

Yeah, be prepared for that. One thing you could request, is to have them send out your Gryphon to you, and then you can update it with your custom tunes once they're ready, using the Pegasus software. You could use the canned tunes in the mean time.

I think their standard method is to wait until the custom tunes are ready, and then load them on to your new Gryphon and then ship it to you.

this is what longshot said when i posted in PHP forums

"They'll send you the programmer with three canned tunes. When you get the programmer, get your HEX code and start a thread in the appropriate section with all of your info.

If you filled the order form out as completely as you could, that'll be fine. Corey will send you an email with tracking numbers and everything when she gets your order processed. It'll probably take a week since they've been out of the office recently.
"

after i give them my hex code they can start creating the custom tune
