Mike, removing the shiftplus and getting Bauman s/k
Mike, I thought about what you said, and i'm going to remove the shift plus. I'm going to go ahead and install a Bauman shift kit. Just something about the shift plus being to good to be true. I want performance and the shift kit is the way to go......thanks alot.

Hi Toby,
Well, good for you, I'm glad to hear it!
That $40 B&M electronic shift improver will certainly firm the shifts, no doubt about that, but the *way* it does it simply is not good for the transmission long-term. Because of it's very low cost, many people have used them, but it's just not good for the transmission over the long haul, so I'm glad you've decided to stop using it.
I think you'll like the Bauman shift kit, they work very well, and have 5 different "levels" of firmness. One thing to remember, and this was pointed out (as you may or may not remember) by F-150Online's own "Neal the HP Freak" to make sure and do the part of the shift kit that modifies flow to the Overdrive band, as it needs help. I would suggest going in a bit light with regards to shift firmness, as if you go in at the highest level of firmness to begin with, you may end up with a way-too-stiff shift characteristic, and then it can be hard to reverse, but if you start at one of the lower levels of firmness, you can always go back in and open things up some more, etc.
Good luck!
