Got the tuner mid week & tried to use it Sunday. Error message ECU unsupported. Mike & Randy both said truck must be to new, built June 4th. They said I should be able to update this week, around Tuesday or Wednesday, with updated Strategies. Just waiting to hear from them.

Ok, I got an email from Mike at 5 Star that an update was available that would make the tuner support my truck. I downloaded it and installed the 87 Octane tune. I'm thinking I may have to go back to Stock, I just can't seem to keep my foot out of the throttle and that's killin my fuel mileage!

It REALLY woke my truck up!! Shifts are firmer & acceleration seems a bunch quicker. I'll have to run it a bit and post more feedback, but so far I'm very happy with the tune!

Of course this is coming from someone with a truck with less than 1000 miles on it.

Great news Chuck! You'll be pleasantly surprised at how much better the tune gets as the adaptive learning does it's magic. My tunes from both 5star and VMP have been decent right after uploading them but given 500 miles or so they get a lot better. Better in the sense they feel crisper and more powerful and the transmission seems to start reading your mind. I had some issues with my first VMP tune but this second "revised" tune is turning out great and gets better and better every time I drive the truck. 5stars reacted the same.

Oh and don't be afraid to load up a 93 octane tune into that ecoboost, it would appear from the dyno sheets it really likes some added timing!

Good luck, enjoy and keep us updated.

As of right now I have 3 that came with the tuner, 87 91 & 93, I think. I installed the 87 octane tune. I just got an email yesterday from mike that some of the custom tunes are available. I'm going with the 87 performance/tow tune. Just waiting for the email that it's available.

Got my 1st Custom Tune from Mike @ 5 Star, the 87 Octane Performnace/Tow Tune. Installed it on Thursday and took the truck on a 250 mile drive thru the Finger Lakes New York Area on Friday. Cruising a lot of small towns and hilly terrain. Average fuel economy 19.2 mpg at speeds ranging from 25 to 85 mph. I've been average 16.5 mpg around town driving with SCT 87 Octane canned tune. Truck runs SUPER, awesome power, faster pickup & seems to have better shifting.

Only complaint I have is with Custom Tune SCT Tuner gives Error Message & won't let you make adjustments to Top Speed Limits, RPM Limits, etc.... Mike told me it was an issue SCT was aware of and should be fixed with next firmware update. I say 5 Star did an AWESOME job with this tune!!

Definitely, worth the investment in my opinion!

Truck is:
2012 F150 Super Crew FX4
EcoBoost
3.73 Gears
All Stock
1400 miles on it

Nice numbers! 19.2 on a motor that's not broken in on hilly terrain is fantastic.
Wait till you load up the 93 octane tune :-)
