Gas is gas

I've had my chip in my truck for about a year. I've totally forgotten the fact that I use premium at the gas station anymore. I pull up and reach for the gun that says 92, 3, 4 octane and do my thing. Money is no longer the issue. Sure, I go through a tank like it's goin out of style. But I'm having so much fun. That chip brought my truck alive.

I really thought it was going to be a financial pain to pay the extra dollar or two each week I fill up. However, since last summer, I couldn't think of anything more that's worth those two extra dollars per week. What is that? A little more than $100/year. If I drove sane enough, or like I used to before I put in my Superchip, I'd probably save about twice that much. So w/the chip, I'm still saving about $100.

Just a friendly update.

Hi Red Bull,

Thanks for your post!

It's nice to get some long-term feedback too, thanks very much for that, I'm sure some will find that information useful.

We tell people that with the Superchip, you can *either* enjoy the added power and have fun enjoying that power by driving it a bit harder, *or* you can drive it conservatively and usually pick up a little mileage. It's kinda hard to do both at the same time, of course.

Thanks for your update & continued good luck!

Gas mileage

I have had my Superchip in for about 6 months. There has been no decrease in gas mileage, even though I drive with my foot in the floorboard. I still get 17-18 mpg around town.

Hi Red4.2L,

Thanks for your feedback as well.

With your manual transmission, that helps to improve mileage a bit over what the same truck with an automatic would get of course, as the manuals take only about half as much power to turn as the autmatics do. That's probably helping especially in your city mileage, as getting 17-18 around town when driving it hard is an *excellent* result!

Have fun & good luck!
