Using Somebody Else's Custom Tunes?

So I just bought a Gryphon from a user on here, and he has it unlocked, but his custom tunes from PHP are on the tuner still.

In the mean time I have the tuner, and I'm waiting on tunes from PHP of my own is it bad to use somebody else's custom tunes on my truck?

Also I read that if I do an update for it that it will delete his tunes, and put canned tunes back on the tuner? Is this true?

One more thing. When I order custom tunes from PHP do they email me the tunes, and I have to open it though another program ie. Fusion or Pegasus I believe they're called.

Will either of those programs work on a Mac? That's all I have in my house.

Thanks

Hey.

No - can't run those tunes.

Yes - if you update it will install the PHP canned tunes and wipe the custom.

No - the software runs only on Windows - you'd need to run an emulator, or use a friend's Windows box.

Recommend you join PHP's forum - all this and more is covered very well there.

Unless his HEX code was exactly like yours it wouldn't work. The chances of that are very slim.

Thanks guys. I ended up getting a virtual machine boot of Windows and installing the software. Updated the Gryphon's firmware and something else.

Got the canned tunes back on. Will be saving up some money to get custom tunes soon.
