Having problems with superchips flashpaq 1865.

I was calling around town the other day to price having a shift kit installed (at my dad’s shop we did this every day) into my truck but no one would do this unless I agreed to have a complete rebuild. My Trans works well so this was a waste of time for me as I was only trying to prolong the life of my Trans by eliminating any soft shifts on and off road. So yesterday after doing hours of research I decided to pick up a Superchips Flashpaq #1865 for my 2004 F150 5.4L to increase my shift firmness. The tuner worked great at first. The Trans shifts where quick and crisp and the throttle response was great. But after an hour of driving things took a turn for the worst as the shifts became softer and the throttle response faded too. I guess I did not update the tuner properly because I started to noticed that the tuner on all advanced and quick tunes had caused knocking at low RPM’s and sometime caused a stuck throttle in the same RPM range if the Trans was in Park and or N. Today I talked with Superchips Tech’s and got the tuner updated correctly. This fixed the stuck throttle and engine knocking. After running some test I realized that the tuner had made my truck slower than what is was before ever using the tuner. Before using the tuner my 0-40 was 4.1 seconds, give or take 0.1 based on road conditions, tire warmth and driver. After using the tuner my 0-40 in 87 Octane is 4.4 and if put back to stock it is 5.6. In the 87 Octane tune my 0-60 is 8.8; this is exactly the same as before ever using the tuner. If anyone has any idea as to what I could do to fix this please help.

Yes. Sell it in the Classifieds section and buy this:

http://www.vmptuning.com/store/index...parent=66&pg=1

Model 3000 - comes with 3 custom tunes of yer choice.

Unless yer tranny has issues, or yer vehicle needs maintenance ( MAF, TB cleaning, new fuel filter, fresh front O2's , etc) you will be extremely pleased with this device and the custom calibrations.

All of the maintenance you have listed has been done within the last 2000 miles including a PCM reprograming by the dealer. Maybe the dealers programing and tuning was better than the so call industry best Superchips. The truck is like new.

If yer truck was reflashed, and the device updates do not support the updated calibration code, you may have issues.

A generic tune can occasionally be hit & miss on certain trucks - this is why going custom is far more likely to produce optimum results because it is based upon the EXACT Hex code in yer pcm.

Unfortunate you did not do some research, as the device I linked to is not all that more costly than the 1865.

My advice stands - there IS a significant difference - I have run both.

Yer truck, yer money. Feel free to ignore everything I said, and just stay stock.

Why the tud MGDfan? I totally agree that the 1865 was a waste of time and money especially now that I have to pay the dealership to reprogram my PCM again.

So the question still remains as to if I can reverse the ill effects of this tuner and just start back at ground zero when my truck ran strong like bull.
