4.6 3v
4.6 3v
Ok, so I just bought a new Travel Trailer and now may be in the process of shopping the turner market. I have a few questions though.
When I search for 4.6L it always comes up as the 2V. Is there a tuner specifically for the 3V or do I just use one for the 2V?
I don't have a race truck so speed is not a big deal to me, but with a tuner really help out with towing? Gas mileage seems to be debatable amongst users so I am not really looking at taking that to account.
I mainly want the tuner for towing and tranny, which all the companies come with canned tunes so I am not sure if the custom tunes would really help there. Is there really a big difference with that? Any help would be appreciated. And yes I used the search bar prior.

I purchased the edge CS from PHP for the 4.6 3v and have had no succes with tunes. Edges canned tunes caused pinging, when I contacted tech support I was told to use octane booster. That prompted me to order custom tunes from PHP and those tunes are now pinging. I am waiting on the 4th set of rewritten tunes and was informed they wouldn't rewrite them anymore. I haven't had much success in the way of this programmer so best of luck to you.
i have an 04 with 4.6l and i have a diablosport tuner using their canned tunes for CAI.
i have no complaints about it and have seen a 2.5 mpg increase but i have no idea how much better it could be with a custom tune as i have not tried that route.

lol...last year at Christmas time we did a 'cash for clunkers' deal, where we offered $100 credit towards ANY programmer that got traded in...it was a good program
We offer tunes for 87/91 and 93 octane fuel. I recall working through a few knock issues with our Beta testers, and I have followed up with them and they all report that the final tunes they received are awesome, with no signs of knock anywhere.
Thanks

An friend of mine purchased a 2010 F150 w/ the 4.6L 3v and got the edge CS. His only issue was when the truck would hit the rev limiter it would bounce for a second or two before grabbing the next gear. After a few WOT runs the truck failed to start subsequently. Edge sent him 3 programs but I do not know if has been resolved. He said their customer service was pretty good. He ended up going through PHP to get it resolved. In my case I went with the Diablo Sport Predator and all I can say is no problems and totally awesome. I have an 07 w/ 5.4 3v and it has made a world of difference on the 87 tune.
