Superchip and ignition help
Hey Mike, I am getting ready to upgrade my 2000 4x4 expediton. I am looking at ways to get more performance and better MPG. Have a few questions about tweaking the best chip on the market today. I would like to know how the chip will work with the upgrades below?
Super Fuelmax
Airaid FIPK
Ganatelli Mass Airflow sensor
Gibson sport exhaust
Direct Hits ignition upgrade
Kenne Bell supercharger
The last 2 upgrades are what I am really worried about. I know other people have a similar setup to what I am going to be doing. Other futur mods are a 5" RCD lift kit, 2" Daystar body bushiing mounts, and 37x12.5x16R BFgoodrich. Piaa airdam modified for Hella black magic lights.
Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

Hi Quadkeys,
I enjoyed speaking with you today, thanks for calling!
We pretty much covered all of that over the phone, but just briefly...................
As far as how the Superchip will work with those mods in your list, if you changed the MAF (mass airflow meter, we would need to do a custom program to compensate for the A/F being leaned out, they virtually all do that, and by about 2 full points. Once that is compensated for, there is little to no power gain, as the motor just can't use any more airflow capacity than the stock MAF & throttle body are capable of flowing until you have major mods like a supercharger, a serious port job on the cylinder heads, etc.
That being said, we can easily do the program changes needed to run that part, no problem.
The ignition upgrade, or most things on the market to deliver a hotter spark, increase the duration of the spark kernal, or to deliver multiple sparks, do not need to be compensated for in the Superchip program.
Basically, the supercharger and the aftermarket MAF would need to be compensated for with a custom program, everything else should be fine without that, and we can easily tune for anything on that list, those 2 items (the blower and the aftermarket MAF) would need a custom program.
Wow, 37 inch tires that's gonna be a massivly lifted machine!
Sounds like a fun project!
