97-03 5.4 programer questions

Im thinking about getting an EDGE programer for '99 5.4 as i am looking for some better fuel economy and a tad more power. im curious if they are worth the money? any noticeable increases in mpg's and/or power? is there a better quality programer for my application? any input is appreciated

There should be noticable power but don't count on any more mpg. Better shifting is a plus.

If you're looking at a programmer for mpgs its a crap shoot...face it we drive bricks......

If your looking for a "seat of the pants" effect then get one...

The only edge product available is the edge CS/CTS for the 97-03 f150's.....stay away from the older edge evolution their cables can go bad and do.....

I have been very happy with my First gen Edge, and now Evo. If decide on Edge buy it from Power hungry performance. That way you get a discount on custome tunes if you want them later.

In my Expd I can tell a slight difference in seat of the pants. Mileage in Level 2 showeds about 1 mpg. On my 98 4x4 4.6 I actually showed .2 seconds in the quarter mile on a Gtech pro.
