Edge Evolution CD

Hey yall, I'm talking to a guy about buying his edge off him. My concern is he does not have the CD it came with. Is that a problem? Can I find it online for free?

Also I use a MacBook computer, does that hinder my ability to use an Edge? Update wise? Thanks for the help fellas.

Methinks the software you'll need can be downloaded for free from the Edge website. However, I'm thinking the Mac might hinder you. I'm sure 88 will chime in soon.

At any rate, if there's a way you can work it, I'd HIGHLY recommend it! I just got mine a few weeks ago and I love it! Just make sure it has been returned to stock, and if it's a good price and you can work it out with the software stuff, you won't be sorry if you get it.

yes you can download edges software from their website.....the only way it will run on a MAC is if you're using parallels and micro soft....hardly any of the tuning stuff is MAC based....

Since I can't run it on my Mac, does anyone know where I could download a free emulator?

Think I may just have to steal my roommates computer whenever I need to update it. Hopefully it isn't a huge program? I can't really afford another computer.

It's not a huge program at all. Quick install...pretty small footprint.

If you get it, I would strongly suggest you get with Bill at PHP to at least have it upgraded with Gryphon firmware. That's what I did, and I have NOT been disappointed!

I plan to a little more down the road. Maybe after the (Hopeful) "new truck feeling" wears off from the Edge, I'll ship it off to him in Winder. Just can't afford the expense all at the same time...

Hey Barret, just make sure if it doesn't run right tuned, get it out of there until you can get a custom tune. Mine hated the canned tunes and I've read a few others on here that didn't have good luck. Varies truck to truck, just annoying

He can actually upgrade it to the Gryphon firmware with canned tunes remotely over the intorweb. Beats the heck out of having to ship it off and wait for it...and wait for it...and wait for it....

I'm told just having it upgraded from the Evo to Gryphon with just the Gryphon canned tunes makes a huge difference.

Thanks for the heads up John. I'll keep it in mind, hopefully my truck likes the canned tunes!

Well that is pretty awesome. I think I'm only about 30 minutes away from PHP though, at least I am when I am at home. So maybe driving up to them would be an option too.

I would take full advantage of that. Get your truck dyno tuned my him. I would in a heartbeat. You are so lucky to live by him, I'm so jealous
