Thumbs up Mike and Superchips

I just wanted to let others know how I was treated when I called Mike to talk to him about a chip for my new truck. What a PLEASURE!!! I have never delt with someone so understanding and customer service oriented in my entire life! I am so glad that I spent the money with him and not one of the "shops" in my area. Well worth the money based on service alone. The chip will speak for itself. Thanks again Mike, you are #1 in my book!!! :

Thumbs up Mike's the man

I wonder if Mike ever gets tired of all the compliments.

His customer service is first rate, as is his knowledge. When I had my 1999 F150 I had the no start problem that a bunch of us had back then(no fault of superchip) he helped me out and showed me how to get my processor fixed.

When I got my new truck and went to find a tuner for it, I made sure I got the Superchip in my truck, and man am I happy I did.

Hi Don C,

Nice to "see" you again!

That is one nice-looking silver Lightning. I don't know how many silver ones they made, but you don''t see them very often, at least, we don't. Nice to see a different color!

Kudos to Mike!!!!!

I have to jump on this bandwagon. I am in the same field as Mike, just different product line-ups and I have to say it is refreshing to deal with someone of his caliber. Everyday I deal with "salespeople" and everyday I think to myself..."salesmen are as good as a used condom"...and I am a salesman. In my opinion you must know your product to sell it, and you just don't see that anymore. Mike is really up on his product and that is refreshing. I pride myself on knowing my product and you can tell Mike does too. Not only did he take time to explain the benefits of the chip on my truck, but he was answering questions totally off the subject for me. Thanks for all the help Mike. Sorry for rambling on, but if you are going to praise someone, they should know what they did.

Hi 12VRep,

That's very kind of you to say, I only hope we can live up to those kind words.

By the way, I'm one of those few (I guess) who does *not* feel that all salespeople are automatically lying scum-suckers just because they sell a product or products for a living, nor do I tolerate people who think that way. There are a few bad apples in any profession/trade, and the auto business in some places has more than their fair share, but we're not all like that, not by a long shot.

Some of the most ethical people I have come across in my life have been in sales of some kind, and in all kinds of various fields, from medical to government, from computing to the space shuttle, from NASCAR engine builders/leasors to you name it. I've made it my mission to learn from the very best that I have been lucky enough to come across, all my life. Yes, we own our own business, but ultimately, we are salespeople, and in fact, there are few products aside from certain commodities that aren't "sold" by someone to someone else. The one lesson that has always meant the most in my dealings with those kinds of people that I have been lucky enough to meet, deal with & know, is *integrity*. There is no in-between, either you have it in your heart and *care* about the product(s) you deal in as well as the people you sell to, or you're nothing, as either a human being or a salesperson, in my humble opinion.

They say that a "born salesman" can sell anything successfully, and while that is true to a certain extent, I have never fully believed in that, as that "theory" dismisses product knowledge as a primary requirement. I believe that product knowledge and caring about providing your customer with a solution that makes him/her happy now as well as tomorrow, backed by the very best service you can possibly muster at all times, is the key to not only successful selling, but far more importantly, the key to integrity.

We do what we can, & thanks for your post.

Hey Mike

Is there anything that can be done about this truck running like crap during the day in the hot air? It seams that it only occurs when the air is warm, and on the "LEV" trucks only. Any thoughts would be appreciated.

Thanks,
FORDTRK

Thumbs up ATTN: Mr. Mike

You know what they say, your not selling the product, your selling your self. If the customer trusts that your not Bullsh*ting them then they will buy your product.
the ones(salespeople) I cant stand are the ones who try to convince you that you have a need for their product, just so they can get the sale.
My theory is that a "job" is had by those who seek out first time business, but a "Career" is had by those who seek repeat business. I've found the best way to get repeat customers is to refer them to someone who can help them better than you. Eventually they are going to need what you specialize in!
BTW- I am a Mortgage Loan Originator, the most hated of all salespeople, it is hard work to earn my customers trust, but when I do, AND I DO!, they stick with me for life. Sorry for Rambling!!
on to my question! Are the Chips Built for the Specific application, or the specefic model of truck?? Can they be bulit to Maximize other Mods. also?
thanks Mike!!

Hi Fordtrk,

I'm not sure what you mean by "runs like crap", do you mean that you're getting noticeably less power when it's hot outside?

If so, that is always going to happen as ambient air temperature increases, with any engine, and even more so with computer-controlled motors, as they use inlet air temperature sensors and that data is used by the ECU to alter spark advance.

Not only is hotter air less dense so you can't burn as much fuel and thus you makle less power, but you also loss spark advance as the intake air gets hotter and hotter, and that reduces power even further.

This may be what you're talking about, but without speaking with you about this in more detail, I won't know for sure if this is what you mean.

Please feel free to give us a call if you'd like to go over this at length, we'll be happy to go over this with you.

Hi SIZMTRZ,

Thanks very much for your perspective, I agree!

I always thought that used car salespeople were the most hated, I would never have thought to have mortgage originators on that "list".

To anser your question, yes, every Superchip is programmed for each individual vehicle's exact software revision in it's power train computer.

If there are modifications that will affect the tuning, then we can compensate for all of that as well. Things like K&N air filters, airbox kits, & exhaust system changes do not affect the tuning enough for us to need to compensate in these F-150's, Expeditions, etc. It's generally things like aftermarket MAF's (mass airflow meters), supercharging, ported heads, nitrous oxide, etc. that will require custom programming, just as a loose general guideline.

Please feel free to give us a call sometime if you'd like to go over any of that in more detail & thanks again for your post!
