trouble with 1715 superchip

My buddy is trying to sell his 1715 superchips max microtuner for 50 bucks and I think I might be intrested in trying it for that price. So I went to look at it today he set his truck back to the stock settings and we plugged it into my truck both 2004 f150s and it would not turn on we tryed it on his truck again and it would still not power up. Is there anyway to get the device to turn back on. Has anyone had this problem before. I know it is an older tuner but any advice or tips would be helpful.

not only is it a canned tuning device, but you've probably got a blown fuse

You were right I did have a blown fuse, thanks. As for it being a canned tuning device does this mean i cannot set it to adjust my computer for my bigger tires and gear change.

If im not mistaken the 1715 max microtuner is for 97-03 model yrs. It is the same tuner I have for my truck and no it doesnt adjust for tire/gear changes.

I stand corrected by MGD ...99-03 gear and tire changes are adjustable. Not on 97-98 though
