JET, Hypertech, Diablo etc.
If there are any vendor reps from these companies or any other Chip manufacturers reading this site please sign up and post info about your products. The members of this site would appreciate technical info from all vendors not just Superchips. It would help you sell more if you offered technical un-biased info about your product. Follow Steve's rules and tell us about your products. This is a great site and the info is very useful to the members and browsers of these forums. Join in and speak up about your products. After all this is the "Computer Chips" forum not just Superchips.
Norm,
The reason I don't come to this site much anymore is because if your chip wasn't a superchip or you wanted to try something else you were considered stupid. There are some really good products out there but you would never know it by reading the threads on this site. I have seen a person rave about another brand chip and then be told that the other company doesn't have engineers or their chips blow up engines and thus scare the person off the chip they just purchased. Its interesting that one of these new companies has recently come out with many new and inovative products and if they didn't succeed in their business, we would not have all these new products. Just my 2 cents.

I agree.. It's getting bad when someone posts a message questioning the advertised benefits of some product, or just trying to find out which company makes the better product etc(everyone wants the truth and the best product for their truck), and a salesperson from that particular company, and his/her followers, are allowed to come right in and post follow-up of what an idiot the person is for even considering another product(or questioning the salesperson's claims) and shames him/her into not questioning that product or posting again.. I think there should be forums that allow salespeople and there should be forums they just aren't allowed in to post their product info. You cannot believe salespeople and their claims but it seems no one can get an honest opinion from users around here. It forces the person seeking information to visit other F150 sites to find an unbiased opinion.
I'll be black-balled for this I'm sure...

DiabloSports
I have emailed diablosports to find out more specifics. Also gave them my computer code and asked what specific difference I would see with their chip vs others. The website at least is impressive!

The 'Hellion' handheld is/will be a cool deal, in the future you will be able to download a program from the internet and load it into your truck computer?

I know I'd like to see more info in the Diablo. I just like the idea that it sits in the ECU and does not have to be taped down. I think they are coming along pretty good, they just don't have much of a presence yet. I hope that changes. Competition is good, talk is cheap.
do you think the other chip makers dont now about this sight or they just dont have time,or care, to answer question? why do you think no one from hypertech or diablo (not a user, i am talking about the company itself) post here?

Let me try and find some of the other posts I've seen from other 'reps'. Usually Steve gets on them and kicks them out for 'advertising'. Says if they are going to advertise their product then they should pay, I totally understand.. I guess Mike is allowed since he is a supporter of the site$$. I dont know all the details but I'm sure they do not like us talking about this.
I am sure Steve would let any vendor post as long as they follow the rules he has posted. I have seen Mike reprimanded by Steve for issues that should have been handled off line.
Feel free to speak up on this issue Steve.

As long as the rules are followed by everyone there is no problem. I do not aim to silence people's opinions, rather ensure the rules here are followed. If these forums did not have rules, this site would have never gotten as large as it has.
IMHO, the reason you see so many Superchips posts here is because Mike has been on these boards a long time, provides an excellent product (from what I have read), provides great customer service and has many loyal and happy customers. He should not be faulted for that, rather commended for the job he has done. Additionally, he is a "Supporting Vendor" and given a little bit more leeway because of his contributions, financial and otherwise (i.e. Rally).
FWIW, I still use the Hypertech chip in my truck (for those that are under the misconception that this site is making me rich, you are dead wrong, I cannot afford 92 octane these days), so those that are sitting on webmaster anti-Superchip competitor conspiracy theories, you might as well let them go or move on to another site.
I am going to try to work with Mike on a Superchip FAQ that can be linked to the boards, so this forum does not appear to be biased and repetitive as some have observed.
The goal here is to provide as much educational information on these forums to allow for an intelligent purchase decision. Along those lines, a vendor pretending to be an enthusiast for the purpose of promoting a product he sells (fastsvtss) was, is and always will be against the rules.
Another FWIW, I have been contacted by other chip manufacturers and dealers, both recently and in the past, about advertising on the site. These companies have chosen not to support F150online in that manner. Their choice. Mike has chosen to support the site, so I will defend him in that regard.
Suggestions and comments on how this site is run are always welcome, providing they are constructive and not insulting. Nothing posted in this thread has been deemed "ban-worthy" though there are some that probably hoped it was so they could run off and tell their friends of their new status.
Hope that diatribe helped to clear up my (ie F150online's) position...

ELKTAGAZ,
Nothing you've said would get you kicked off...unless, of course you are actually a Hypertech Dealer in disguise...
BTW, do you know when you joined the site? I need to update your join-date so it doesn't say 1969!!

I thought that was hilarious! 1970? I was thinking I was pretty cool for a while. I was here forever ago it seems. I had to change my name once a few years back for some reason but I'd like to say I started here around the time of Dunbarton? I'm not exactly sure. I bought my first '97 in 02/97. There was a time I could read every single new post if I signed on once a day, and it wouldnt take me hours
. I will check my records and try and figure it out. thanks again.
