Differences a programmer makes?

First off let me say I've used the search feature and looked at tons of threads.

Well im interested in buying the Edge Evolution programmer and im just wondering how big a difference it makes. I know it firms up the shift points but how much quicker/ faster does it make it?

First off I HIGHLY recommend you getting a Gryphon from PHP, basically the same unit but with the Gryphon you can have custom tunes written for it and the Edge you can't.
I just installed the Grphon mono-chrome unit in my 06 KR F-150 4X4 and the difference is night and day! Throttle response is wayyyy better, trans shift wayyyy better, and the over-all power is extremely better! This truck would not brake the tires loose on dry pavement before I installed the tuner, now it will lite the tires up from a dead stop half way thru 1st gear. Oh and I'm just running the 87 tow tune for now, When I run this tank of gas out and fill it up with some 93 I'm going to try the performance tune

The Gryphon is the same hardware as the Edge. You just have the flexibility of adding custom tunes.

The best all around mod you can do short of a super charger.

Yes, commonly referred to as canned tunes. The are similar to the canned tunes in the Edge but have some tweaks. Bill, the owner of PHP wrote the canned tunes for Edge before starting PHP.

It will make a difference but if you are expecting it to cut your 0-60 in half and be able to street race every sports car with wheels, yeah, you'll be disappointed. You have to be realistic. Your not adding 100 horsepower like on a diesel. You can expect to take a second off a quarter mile time.
