Does your cigarette lighter work ? The OBD II connector and the lighter are on the same fuse...check the fuse.

Good call, forgot about that. Pretty sure that's the problem now. Which fuse is for the OBDII/cigarette lighter though? Not too familiar with all that..

It's listed in your owners manual. I can't think of it off hand

no worries, i ended up finding it in the manual. much easier of a fix than i expected, such a relief. but now im getting an error code that reads f1 on the gryphon screen when i try to program a tune. pretty sure i just need to return it back to stock since i got it used so im going to try that out when i get the usb cable in.

Not sure what you are saying, but if it has the stock tune from another truck in it, it has to return that other truck to stock or be cleared by PHP and reset.

The error code 0xF1 can sometimes appear during programming. Try this:

1. Leave the ignition key in the ON position.
2. Disconnect the Gryphon at the OBDII port.
3. Plug the Gryphon back into the OBDII port.
4. After getting to the main screen, wait 15 seconds for needed parameters to be loaded.

If you still cannot program the PCM successfully, contact PHP for assistance.

yeah i didnt word that too well, my bad.. what i was trying to say was that when i went to choose a tune to set my truck to the options were all custom tunes besides the #2 setting which was an 87 tow, so i tried to use this but after a minute of loading the oxf1 error message appeared. just need to figure out how to download pegasus now since i have a mac..
