Thanks Mike, Superchip Installed !
Thanks Mike, Superchip Installed !
Mike, I just wanted to say thanks for explaining everything about the Superchip to me on the phone the other day. I got it on Wednesday (as you said I would) and installed it that same night. All I can say is WOW! The instructions you sent with the Superchip are very helpful and make it very easy to install. My truck started on the first crank and has not skipped a beat. I can tell my gas mileage will probably drop a little because I can't seem to get my foot off the pedal. Do yall sell anything for that? Anyway, thanks for being so helpful. It is nice to finally deal with someone that cares about their customers and their reputation.
One more question. My brother has a 1999 F-350 PSD. I thought I had read that the computer sticker is on the drivers door of these vehicles. We checked both doors and could not find one. We did see an area on the drivers door that looked like a sticker had once been there. Where esle can he look to find the computer code? Thanks in advance.

Hi Skinny & Family Ride,
Skinny, thanks for your post, that was kind of you to say.
Sorry I was a bit slow to respond gentleman, my apologies! Things have been hectic the past few days with all the Rally preparations, etc. and I've been getting online later than normal. I know, no excuse, so let's get you the answer you need.....
OK fellows, just to first confirm the place you check for the code sticker on Super Duty vehicles is by opening the Driver's door, and then look in the front part of the door frame, in the area of the door hinges. There you should find the code sticker with 3 letters and 1 number. If this is where you looked and where it looked like a sticker used to be, then we'll need to go to the computer itself, and that's very easy to do................
The computer is mounted there in the cabin on the Driver's side, just to the right of the emergency brake pedal. It will be covered by a black plastic "shroud", which is retained in the rear by a pair of 7mm bolts. Simply remove those 2 bolts, and then tilt that black cover, or shroud, up an inch or two (actually, the way the computer is mounted you're pushing it to the right an inch or two would be more accurate I suppose) , and then you can usually see another code sticker on the back of the computer itself.
Another place you can look is on the wiring harness where it attaches to the front of the computer, and that is under the hood on the Driver's side. There will be a couple of wiring harnesses on the firewall underneath the brake master cylinder, and each of them will have a 10mm bolt head dead-center. You'll want the harness that is closest to the fender on the Driver's side, that's the one that connects to the front of the computer. You won't see the computer from that view, the wiring harness looks like it's doing a dead-end into the firewall, that's where it mates to the front of the computer. Look right there where that harness meets the firewall, and sometimes you can see a white sticker with a couple of lines of writing on it, and usually the lower line will have the code on it. Again, that code will always be 3 letters followed by 1 number, no other format. I mention that because there are all kinds of stickers and part numbers all over the vehicle, just remember is going to be 3 letters followed by 1 number, always.
Let me know if you have any trouble finding that code & have a great weekend!
