Which tunes?

I am looking at getting a Gryphon from PHP, but can't decide on what tunes to get considering you never know what octane gas is gonna be available and if its gonna have ethanol or not. I do alot of towing in the summer locally here, but in the winter I tow a snowmobile trailer to the mountains Mont. and Wyoming, and you never know what's gonna be available for gas there. Any thoughts???
Thanks
jim

I think I would go with an 87 Performsance and maybe a 91 Tow.

How about an 87 performance, 87 tow, and a 91 performance? At high altitudes, you can safely run 85 on an 87 tune.

So, if I go with the 87 tow and 87 performance I should be alright if I have to fill at a station that contains ethanol in their 87 octane?

Yes, the only negative will be a loss of mpg with ethanol. I suggested the 91 tow since most seem to get a little better gas mileage and the engine seems a little happier when towing. It should be just fine on the 87 Tow, though.

That's kinda what I figured with the ethanol. Most stations here have ethanol in the 89 and 91, ethanol free in the 87. 91 can be up to $.45 a gal. higher than 89 or 87, most places right around $.25 higher.

Get whatever octane gas you use the most of for your tunes.......87-89 there's only a little difference.....the big jump is 91+........

yes but on mine 87 works a lot better with my 87 perf tune. 85 feels sluggish to me.

Thanks for the help guys. Guess my main concern was if the ethanol in it made a huge difference other than mileage. Think I will go with the 87 tow, and 87 performance. Can't see spending another 20-45 cents a gallon more to go with the 91. Thanks again...
