None of the above.....

But when I had the gryphon with canned tunes it was a toss up between 2+3....

Then I got custom tunes and I never looked back.....

How about staying on topic and not posting opinions. For the OP, I run my edge on level 2 and run 89 octane gas.

Back when I ran the Edge canned tunes. I put about 31,000 miles on the truck running level 3. Level 2 faded too quickly in upper rpms when passing and I do a lot of highway driving. The mpg on level 3 with 93 octane was enough better to offset the extra cost. If I drove mostly city, then I would probably ran Level 2.

I then ordered custom tunes from PHP and there is a world of difference. I get Level 3 performance out of an 87 Performance tune with far better downshifting. I put about 70,000 miles on it using the 87 Perf tune. I have a 93 Perf tune but just never felt the need to use it.

How much did the custom tunes cost you for the Edge?

This was when PHP was just getting started. I paid $50 each for the 2 tunes. Running the 87 Perf instead of the Level 3 on 93 paid for th tunes in 6 months.

PHP charges $60 per custom tune, but if you bought the device from them they are half price. The EVO has to be sent in to be converted to a Gryphon in order to load custom tunes.

I was running Level 2 with my Edge for a long time.

Now I'm running 87tow/91perf custom tunes on my Gryphon.

Hi,

When I had an Evo I ran Lvl 2 mostly as I liked how much torque the truck had, on lvl 3 I find that it revs too much for any amount of stop and go traffic. I now have a Custom 87 tow on my gryphon and it was the best money I have spent on performance mods. Good luck.

Why didn't you open an actual poll? It'd be easier than trying to read all the posts.

Well, when i had my Gryphon i ran PHP custom tunes for 87 octane...
had to ship it back to them i could not get it to switch back to 93 performance without locking up. Been a few weeks without the tunes or the Gryphon.. i really hate driving the truck without. Hurry home Gryphon, either a new CS or old faithfull! I miss you!

I never had to do without the tunes or the monitor in 4 years and 103,000 miles. It would have been miserable to do so. It was bad enough returning it to stock the few times I took it to the dealer.
