Edge Evolution in 2000 F150 with 4.2?

Hey guys,

I'm kind of on the fence on performance chips. My friend chipped his Integra RSX Type-R and his Audi A4. Totally different cars then this truck, yet he never had any problems and he got a huge boost in both performance and economy.

So what I'm wondering is has anyone had experience with the Edge Evolution for a 2000 4.2L? That's what I'd be chipping, and my other question is would I receive better fuel economy then now, as well as power??

Thanks,
Brendan

First, I don't think Edge makes a tuner for the V6, I think you will have to get a custom tune on an SCT product. Secondly, you get much better performance and shifting, but rarely see much improvement in mpg. Certainly not enough to pay for it. The value comes in better performance for the same mpg.

Okay, well I could care less if the fuel economy was improved, but it shouldn't get much worse from it?

Right on, thank you. Where do I start on finding SCT?

As I said in your other thread, these are not "chips", they are PROGRAMMERS.

Tuners who offer SCT programmers that come recommended here:

Troyer
VMP
5 Star

From what I know, Troyer is the best, but his turnaround time on custom tunes is unacceptable. I would contact VMP and 5 Star and ask them if they write tunes for the V-6.
