MIKE: CUX1 or CUX2--01 lightning?

What are the performance differences between these two, if any? I have an 01L with a CUX1 program. Wondered why an 01(April build date) would not have a CUX2. Is the '2' the later rendition? Are both CUX's treated equally by your chips?

Thanks, Dan

Lightninrod,
I checked mine and it's CXN1. Go figure.

Hi Dan,

I think you might be confused, or might have mis-read the sticker. All 1999 Lightnings are CUX1 from the factory , all 2000 Lightnings are CUX2 from the factory , and all 2001's are CXN1 from the factory.

A few 1999's have been reflashed to CUX2, the code for the 2000's, to alleviate minor issues but other than a few getting reflashed here or there, those 3 codes are it, one for each model year, as it's a very low production vehicle.

As far as what the differences are, there are no significant differences power-wise; in 2000 they added the octane selection, etc., various functions are located in different memory addresses etc., but they basically are very similar in most regards *operationally* speaking, and so they gain the same basic amount of power from the Superchip for each model year.

Mike: As expected, you were correct--CXN1 is what I have--didn't look closely enough.

Thank you,

Dan
