Tell me what I need!
Alright, so I have been doing a lot of research today about these tuners and I think I've figured out a general idea of what I need, but I want those of you who know a lot about this to tell me what I need based on my criteria.
I've got an 06 F150 FX4. Gotts mod, K&N air filter, SIDO flowmasters, 33X12.50R20 Toyo M/ts. Im really just looking to get better performance out of my truck which I know these things can do and I know that my truck needs.
1) Acceleration is lacking and I want that better mainly for passing and just because I hate how it feels.
2) I definitely don't want any loss in MPG. I know a gain is small, if any.
3) Definitely want to go with custom tunes. That seems obvious from my research.
4) I'd like to have a display screen, but if I did my research correctly, the price differences are not really a lot, but not insignificant. Comparison prices would be great.
5) I do pretty much only city driving, but will be doing more highway in the for seen future (1-2 years) so I want to plan for that.
6) I don't do any towing so no need for tow tunes.
7) Need to make sure my tire size can be compensated for. Is that done in the custom tune or the tuner itself?
8) 87, 89 an 91 are the only fuels offered here. I've been running 89 lately, but willing to try anything really.
9) I live in southern Kentucky so im not in any high altitudes.
Ok so those are my criteria. Let me know what you think. From what I can tell from searching I'm going to want probably a Gryphon or SCT with custom tunes. Maybe 87/89 economy, 87/89 performance and another one. A 91 performance maybe? I really don't want to be switching gas types though.
