just got new edge CS-questions

I just installed this late yesterday and have a few questions:
1) can you go back and change tire parameters ONLY without re-seting back to stock and starting all over?
2) shouldn't the display be dang near exactly what shows on your speedo and rpm gage on the dash? Since the PCM has been reprogrammed , then i think both should right on? The edge is just a little under the dash readings.
3) using #1 setting, how high can you go on timing and still use 87 octane? I changed mine to 1 deg advanced. I would think 3-4 degs?
4) what color mix is best for hot weather, today it was close to 100 and i wasn't happy about hardly being able to see the numbers.
I think i will like this one, been wanting to do this for a while, but theres tons of info out there and at some point u got to just buy one and hope it works for you. '05 scab 4.6, 975, 411. thaks in advance....rossford

1) the pcm needs to be reflashed with the changes in calibrations...
2) Fords speedometer always will read 1-2 mph higher than the edge speed...
3) is go with custom tunes rather than messing with something that may cause harm....
4) display colors and warm weather? I left my CTS pretty much the standard display of analog pids and didn't have any issues...

thanks for reply,,,does the PCM have to be reflashed afterwards or just recommened? also you mentioned the speedo reading higher, (mines shows consistant 2-3 mph higher), i assume the odometer goes with it., showing a tad higher, or faster. to coorrelate with the speedo. So calulating mileage the old fashioned way , will be off a bit. Now I am trying to set the tire mm size to get as close to our mercury which i know is right on. Does these programmers use the exact tire dimesnions when new, and considering no load? I know it not possible to get it perfect. I have rolled my truck, after marking a spot on the back tire and pavement, and actually measuring the distance with one revolution. It came to 2502 and my tire size new is 2521. But i guess any loaded difference (affecting the radious of tire) would be offset by tire expansion from centrifical force at highway speeds., esp in hot weather. Still would like to know a safe timing advance for this 4.6 05 scab without having to use mid range or higher fuel. I have it set at 3 degs over. I dont mean to sound nit picky but im an engineer and very particular,,,sorry to get long winded... any help appreciated!!!

To fine tune the speedo calibration, adjust the tire parameters till the Edge speed readout equals a GPS. You will then find the odometer will be accurate and the vehicle speedometer will be a bit high. That's by design.
