bootleg SuperChip
I have a 2000 F250 Desiel. I bought it used. It came with a superchip. I had a local SuperChip dealer look at it and we found a problem. First it is a blue chip (which I am told is for a gas engine). It has a number different than what my truck calls for. It reads PAIE25 21799, any ideas what this is?
The truck runs fine and the chip seems to work.

Hi heater,
Sounds like you have come across a bootleg unit, hence the color of the can. No Superchip dealer can program the blue module to work on the Powerstroke diesel or V-10 gas engine, those 2 applications take a different module, so it can only be a bootleg. Every once in awhile we'll see one of those show up, though it's very rare these days, as those operations were shut down very quickly and even then, the few that got out are usually still the gold color, though it's not the right shade. Very rare.

I called Superchips about this. I spoke to Jay P. He told me since it was purchased from a Superchips dealer they would cover it. They had me send them the chip and receipt and they would replace it. I did so, now they cannot find the receipt that was sent with it. I did not make a copy (DOHHHHHH). They say it happens a lot..We will see. Thanks for your help.
