To pull the trigger or not?

I've been looking into a tuner, and have one in mind. But my ol' man seems to think its not worth it, even tho he could careless of what i do; He did bring up a few valid points. But aside from that, i plan on just running 87 octane tunes. Probably economy, performance, maybe a tow or a higher octane perf.

Now my question to you guys is, how bad did The perf tune hurt your mpgs, if at all?

And did the economy make the truck feel sluggish at all compared to stock?

I know the economy tune will help, and since my truck is lowered, i should see a decent gain. And he seems to think my 90k miles is too high to be throwing this at the truck, and will cause issues.

I'm just really on edge about dropping cash for something like this, as i really know nothing aside from what i've researched around here.

Thanks much

Tunes will improve the disability of the truck.....mph increases are a crap shoot....50/50 chance of improving it....forget the economy tune and just go with the performance and tow tunes.....

We drive bricks....and bricks are about as aerodynamic as a barn door....and hard to get moving....

Training your foot and performing periodic maintenance to your truck will help your mpgs also....

Your truck will benefit from a tuner, no doubt.

If you wait a couple days, my Gryphon should be for sale and that would save you a few dollars for a good tuner.

If its the monochrome Gryphon it Won't work....OP has a 97.....you have a 2007....the set up changed after 2004...

If its the Gryphon cs/cts then it will.....

I just received my new custom tunes from PHP. A huge difference in the way the truck shifts and the power. I believe I am getting better MPG but not much. I would say to go with PHP you won't be sorry.
