Question "Flip Chip"Or another???

Ok i have head of a "Flip chip" What is this is it a switch you put in your truck and flip it when you want to race and then turn off when not needed. Does it have less Power that a normal aftermarket chip that you just put in? What is the diffrence in Chips Dont they all do the same thing?? I also need Price info and Website where i can find them. After i get my ram air hood i will be getting one. Thanks

Hi remailer,

The 2-program Superchip Flip Chip is not just one static, or "fixed" program combination, the Flip Chip can store any combination of 2 different programs. Now, just exactly what those 2 programs are, and the differences between them is a matter of a combination of several factors.......what the customer wants, the modifications done to the vehicle, the type of vehicle, how it's being used, etc.

For example, if you have a supercharger on one of these F-150's or Expeditions, etc., we usually set them up with a program for towing on one side, and then a program for all-out performance on the other side, so that the vehicle owner can still do everything the vehicle was designed to be able to do from the factory, and more.

Then, on the other "extreme", in a basically stock vehicle without significant engine modifications, usually people will use the Flip Chip set up with one program for use on 87 octane, and the other being our normal performance program for premium gas. The power gains on 87 octane are small, maybe 3-5 horsepower, but all the other mods are done as well, so the full-power delays are removed, transitional retards, etc. removed, and so the vehicle will still accelerate & respond a bit quicker on 87 octane, and then when the customer wants maximum power, they fill it up with premium and flip the switch. (In case you might not be aware, to increase power by any significant amount with a chip requires re-tuning the engine for the use of premium gas)

To change programs, you simply flip the attached switch, which is on the end of a 2-3 foot long lead exiting the Superchip, so you can mount the switch where you want. There is no wiring to do, all that is already done for you, you simply install the Superchip onto the computer, and then mount the switch where you want it, it comes withe the locking collar nut, etc., so you just slip it thru a hole & tighten the nut & that's it!

I would suggest giving us a call at our number listed below, and we'll be happy to go over all the details of your vehicle, your modifications, pricing, options, etc. The Webmaster has strict policies against discussing exact pricing issues here on the message boards to keep them free of blatant commercial content, so that is why we ask that you contact us privately for that specific info. You can also click on the link just below in our signature line that will take you to our F-150 Online Superchip Ordering System, and you can see those prices there as well.

Our hours are Monday thru Friday from 10am to 7pm, Eastern time if you'd like to give us a call, or you can just shoot us an email, whatever is more convenient for you.

Since you need a good deal of information, I would suggest giving us a quick call, we'll be happy to go over al the details, etc. and answer any questions you may have without any pressure to make a purchase. We know you need information, and it's always nice just like to be able to talk to someone about all the details, options, etc., so please feel free to give us a call & we can go over all of that with you , so you can give it some thought.

By the way, best of luck with your Ram-Air hood project!

Thats a bad looking hood. Does it have a way to hook up to your factory intake? Because if I get a ram air hood, then I want it to really pull in air.

Not to sure....But if not just get a intake kit for like $100.00...i think a little more if you dont have a K&N. I'm getting a kit just because...it should run better, with one, with the ram air hood also it will be all good...
