You should not be using a replacement chip. What you need is a programmer, which plugs into the OBD2 port.

What exact "chip" is this?

I can say from experience that that thing is garbage and will do more harm than good. Throw it away or sell it to someone who doesn't know any better.

I have used one before on my old dodge ,lol, and it actually did throw me a few more miles on the road n a little extra pwr. was the one you used in a ford? it is a completly different style of chip from the dodge dakota one but same manufacturer.

and 88racing ok but will it really just get stuck in there? they gave me a sticker to secure it in so it seems like it wont be in good enough.. whats the harm of trying it out?

Absolutely nothing - everyone is giving you bad advice to make themselves feel better.

However, I would suggest that if you don't know where the OBDII port is, you probably shouldn't be modifying your truck with an inferior product that has been proven to cause failures.

Your truck, your money, and your decision. Good luck with your adventure.

I appreciate your concern shotgunz but I dont think theres any problems with this product... ORielly sells this chip and I have Yet to find something bad about Jet Performance Modules' Chip. I can easily take it out if something comes up.

Yep - just before they hook up the tow truck.
I'm done trying to help you, but good luck!

I've seen the inline jet modules get stuck in ecu's ports....they get hot and fuse themselves in there....I'm not saying it won't happen in the obdll port.....but happens....just thought I'd give you fair warning....

Just remember no matter what I say....its your truck and money.

Have a great and wonderful day!

Mannn.... I really hate the commercial.

However , it does fit

Those Jet Chips weren't only bad for the petrol engines, they caused some major problems in the Diesels, way back when.
