edge custom settings

so ive had the edge for a couple months and i was working on a lvl3 custom tune yesterday and my trucks running 0-60 somewhere between 7.2 and 6.6 seconds. is shifting out of 1st gear at 50mph. after 1st gear while its reving through 2nd it feels like its lagging, like it wants to go faster but it wont. i have listed everything i did in the custom tune below, feel free to change stuff.

WOT shifting: 1-2 5100rpm
2-3 4500rpm
3-4 4450rpm
shift firmness: 1-2, -4
2-3, -4
3-4, -3
rev limiter: 5450rpm
timing: -1.50
idle RPM: 75
WOT fuel: 1.60

You need to set the rev limiter at least 400 rpm higher than all the WOT shift points.

Why don't you send the Edge in to PHP to be converted to a Gryphon and get some real custom tunes?

Yes, you must have 400 between the highest shift point and Max revs. Why are you reducing timing. What octane are you running on each tune?

BTW, just to clarify and maybe keep you from getting flamed, what you are asking about is custom settings for an Edge. A custom tune is written specifically for your truck and not a canned tune.

because i know your suppost to run 98 octane or 93 or whatever with lvl 3 but since im running 87 i dropped timing to delay the combustion and its working good im getting 14.4 mpg city and like 16 hwy, and i tried raising the the timing and it diddnt work as good

DO NOT run level 3 with 87 even with the negative timing especially running it hard. There are other issues to consider. That is what I was afraid of. It's your engine but I would never do that to mine, you are at risk of doing some damage.

No, you seldom have engine trouble till it blows. The guys writing the tunes advise against it as there are parameters in the programs that are different. That is all I will say about it. Just trying to help. You are experimenting with something that can seriously damage the engine. If it was not a nono, don't you think Edge would have included in the manual that you could do that?

Run a full tank of 93 then run another before you use the 93 tune. Just filling your tank with 93 does not mean your real fuel grade mix is 93. You still have at least a few gallons of 87 in the fuel lines and reservoir that is "contaminating" and diluting the higher grade fuel.

Your also running over a degree of advancement comparatively with the 87 if you think about .5 degrees for every octane level. You should have pulled 3 degrees, not 1.5. That is like going into the 87 tow tune and adding 1.5 right off the bat. I'm willing to bet the truck also pulled some timing of its own.
