Tuner and dead battery question

So what happens if your battery goes bottom up and you have to change it out?

Anything?

yes, you have to replace the battery but it's a fairly simple task

in fact you can even hire a shop to change the battery for you if you are unable to perform the task yourself

Thanks, smartass.

Do you have to work that hard to be a **** or does it just come naturally?

If you have a low battery, and you are trying to load a program, the tuner may freeze and lock down the PCM. The tuner requires lots of juice, that is why it's important to have a good battery charge before uploading a tune.

What tuner/programmer do you have?
If its a Gryphon or an edge disconnect it before messing with the battery...
The same goes for jump starting....

If your truck was tuned by a handheld programmer you shouldn't have anything to worry about...

OK, guys, let it go. Jeremy, I think you asked for it. Maybe you did not understand what he was asking, but it was a legitimate question.

with an edge, just unplug? or return to stock and unplug? when unhooking the battery?

Just unplug it, change the battery, turn the key on and plug it back in.

Edit: If the battery is dead, you could not change tunes anyway and you definitely do not want a bettery going low while doing a tune change.
