Looking for some opinions...
I just turned 84,000 miles on my '04. I've been thinking about a programmer, but i wonder if it is worth the money. I mean, considering the year and miles I have on my truck. I just put on bigger tires (275/70/18) and it seems to have lost some get up and go. Not sure if I would want custom tunes, or if I would need them. Maybe just canned tunes. If I stick with canned tunes, what would be a good buy? Do you think it would be worth it? Would it make a difference that I would notice?
Custom tunes are worth it over canned tunes.....
The SCT xcal3 is an excellent programmer for this.
Some other things that you might want to consider doing since your truck is at 84k......
Clean the MAF...
Clean the TB...
Change the fuel filter...
Change the spark plugs...
Oh another thing......please read the stickys at the top of this CTP forum.....a lot of time and effort was put into them to better explain the whole tuner concept....

I agree with 88racing, custom tunes are the best way to go. I just picked up a Gryphon CTS (Power Hungry Performance) and am running a canned tune while I wait for my custom to be written, but I can't wait to wake it up with a custom tune. I have notice a lot of canned tunes are built for higher octane fuels. Also, if you Have any performance modifications, an custom tune can help you achieve better results from them.
