XCal2 question?

I bought a used xal2 from a member here and it should be here today. I know I'll need a tune written for my truck, but in the mean time, is it possible to use the tuner to correct for tire size without affecting the stock tune and other parameters? Thanks.

Hi.

No. You need to load a tune with this set as a custom setting.

Thanks. I thought you could manually specify the tire size in the programmer, but I guess that spec has to be uploaded to the vehicle as part of the tune? Bummer. Time to email Justin I guess.

To clarify - NO adjustments are possible without loading a tune FIRST. You can indeed override the GR or TS, and a host of other end-user adjustments if you wish ( see VMP's site for a list) - but you do it during the tuning/flashing process, on the handheld, just before you actually flash.
