I have an 87 F-150 Reg cab 4x4...
9 In Lift with 38s
91 Mustang 302 Block
Engine was just rebuilt with less then 5k Miles on it
It was rebuilt using mostly Performance parts Including:
A bore of 30 Over with Keith Black Pistons
Complete rebuild on the bottem end with aftermarket Rods not sure what brand
Edlebrock Preformer cam
Edlebrock Double roller timing chain
E7 Heads Ported and polished
Milidon High flow oil pump
ARP Hardened pump chaft
Ford Racing 6Qt pan
Flowtech headers with Flowmaster exhuast(Gutted Cat)
Underdrive pulleys
MSD Coil/Wires
I do have an MSD Pro billet Dist and 6AL Control box but they are temp takin off the truck...
Im trying to solve my idle problem, Its and erratic idle the varys from 600Rpm to 1200 Rmp. Back and forth cont.. It only does it when it is at Op Temp.. It does not do when its cold, This leads me to beleave that the Computer can not work with the duration of the cam. It has the Speed density system in it which is where my problem consists.. I had plans to convert to MAF But i can not afford it at this time so i was hoping the Cam chip By Hypertech would curve my fuel and air intake enough to even it out.. The truck has lots of power but i dont think it is at its full potential and i think a chip will give it the edge it needs.
Any Help would be useful
Also it is not my TPS Or a Vaccum leak. Every sensor and Line has been changed...

what gears are you running???


and a MAF conversion or a tweecer is gonna be a must, a canned "chip" isn't gonna do squat

 

i believe the sct flip chip (or what ever they're called) will work on the 87 computers you should just get a mustang computer and harness to MAF.
