Which Engine Will Have Better Tuning Potential?
1. Ecoboost
or
2. 5.0 V8
I would think that the Ecoboost engine is already close to its top potential.
What do you guys think?
Thanks!

The ecoboost will.
Tuners are already getting 400 all wheel horsepower in them in the SHO and MKZ with just some 93 octane.
Turbo cars always tune more power than N/A cars do. The turbo engines always hold up better to since they are forged.

well yeah with the addition of a supercharger which then requires a custom tuner anyways. i think the op is just referring to tuning the engines as is out of the box.
They also have one with twin turbo charges as well. But as far as you are stating, I still think the 6.2L will be the best to tune. But as we can possibly all agree on is that if say for example Edge comes out with a tune for one engine, chances are there are already tunes for the other engines in the works. So other tunes for each engine wont be that far behind.

heres another thought to ponder about. will the tuners take the same 2 year time frame to come up with tunes for the eco, 5.0, and 6.2 as they did with the 4.6 and 5.4 for the latest gen of f150's? the thing that boggles the mind even more is that tuners already have tunes out for the new 6.7's which have been out for only what a few months??

but that has nothing to do with what i stated. the 09's and 10's took the tuners bout what 2 years to finally develope the tunes for these trucks. my statement was will these new motors require the same 2 years? yet the 6.7 diesel had tunes within a couple months. why the difference in the timeframes?
I also think the Ecoboost but I know several shops tuning the SHO's claim the stock fuel system is maxxed out if you're adding more boost. One shop is using Kenne Belle BAP's to compensate. Hopefully the trucks have some added room fuelwise stock.
