Yes, but why would you not want to use the tow tune? So much better!

Yes - and no. You need to at least install and initialize to yer PCM code ( see the manual)

I think it will work then, but if not, just use the trans-only setting.

Otherwise - go get a DashHawk, or a Scanguage II ( less expensive).

It won't. Just don't adjust them.

And there are benefits due to the reduced slippage, TC lockup behaviour and other optimizations - less heat buildup.

A VERY good thing if towing to any significant degree.

But - as I said earlier, if you are reluctant just get an SGII - far cheaper and can display many more PID's, is extensible, (and is also a trip computer).

Never heard of it doing so. Besides, the quicker shifts actually help the transmission and if you want to adjust the shift points in the canned tune to where they are now, you can do so. The slushy shifts in the factory tune actually cause more wear on the clutches.

For towing, you really need to use the tow tune. It provides so much more low end torque.

I had an original Ege, flash programmer in my my 98 F150 for about 20k miles with no issues. I then had it in my Exd for another 10K plus, before trading it in on a current Edge which I have run for another 28K miles. I either run tow or high performance tune with no issues.

Should be plug and play. First time you set it up it will not allow you to set custom programs. I would verify speedo with a GPs just to verify nothing od going on.

it is very easy to configure! if you have different size tires then stock make sure you adjust. plus remove the factory set governor. put it at 200mph and you'll be set! good luck! you will like the better response the programmer will give you...

is there a way to enter 305/50r20 tires in there? and why do i need to set the size of the tires? or the gear ratio? is that just for the speedo or will it wreck something by not changing these settings?

You can put any tire size in there. The manual that comes with it converts the tire sizes to a number that you put in. I believe the number is revolutions per mile. Changing that corrects the speedo, and it will give you a better reading on the miles per gallon. Nothing else changes. You may have to play with the tire size a bit and check the speed with a gps if you have one. Also, the edge speedo reading will be a couple mile an hour lower than the truck speedo. The trucks read slower than you are going. The edge reads the actual speed off the PCM.
